"Pascal Oddo and his daughter Lorraine are setting their sights onProvence.'We had the opportunity to acquire the Vallon des Glauges estate in the Alpilles mountains,'he explains.'But when my daughter wanted to sell our wine in the United States, we realized it would be complicated.'Father and daughter changed course: “We only had one product to offer. So we decided to launch a real business,”continues Lorraine Oddo, president and co-manager of Domaines Oddo.“I was living in Italy and was put in touch with the Planeta family, owners of estates in Sicily, with whom we partnered to acquire land in Sambuca di Sicilia. Then, we also bought Le Piton de Sancerre inSancerre, in partnership withwinemaker Pascal Jolivet.” She and her father have no shortage of ambition.“We also wanted an estate in the Southern Hemisphere. But acquisitions in Argentina and New Zealand proved difficult or risky. We finally found 230 hectares in South Africa, comprising three different vineyards, each with its own distinct characteristics. Le Chant serves as a gateway to South African wines, Pink Valley produces our rosé, and Taaibosch is more traditional.” “
